These lists serve to better the browsing experience on the AdventureQuest 3D Wiki without having to manually type things in and out. Unlike the AQWWiki, we're aiming to remove all redundant notes as well as making all pages easier to navigate to.

Suggestions are however, still limited to a set number (currently 7). This means that if there are more than 7 variants of an item or a monster, you are free to suggest it here. Some pages may have exclusions.

From now on, please discuss any suggestions, additions, or changes to one of the site tags here.
Below this line will be the tags currently in discussion and consideration for implementation on the site. We encourage everyone to discuss and share opinions on the featured tags so potential changes and additions will be much faster and easier.

Tags in Consideration:

• alpha - This is content exclusive to players who have played in the Alpha Stage.
• beta - This is content exclusive to players who have played in the Beta Stage
• eventrare - This tag is applied to items that are obtained throughout a reoccurring event, which may happen twice a year, or never in a year.
• boss - This is a boss monster

Tags to be Updated:

• specialoffer - This tag's intention was to essentially indicate an item of promotional rarity, I plan on updating the tag's definition to include only items from limited promotions, not items that will be tagged with Guardian or KickStarter.

Confirmed Tags:

• guardian - This tag is applied to content that is only accessible to players who have upgraded their account to the Guardian Status.
• heromart - This is a reward from HeroMart
• promo - This is a reward for redeeming a promotional code for AdventureQuest 3D
• classtoken - These are Class Tokens, used to unlock classes as of Ashfall III
• daily - These are only available once per day, or every 12 AM EST
• set - These are only tagged on Item Sets pages.

How do I know if an item isn't updated? Updated items will not be visible on the harrItems page. So anything you see on there is still in needs of updating.

What can I do to help?

If you do not have a Wiki account-

Twitter users- Please tweet an image of an item(s) stats (like this, for example) to @OffAQ3DWiki or @harriAQ. We will be able to see the updated stats and update it on the Wiki if you are not a user on our site.

Discord users- Please send a private message to Harrison#1677 on an item that has not yet been updated and I will update it as soon as possible.

If you are a constant visitor of our site, you will know what the Archives are for, and if not, please visit the Archives FAQ.

In short, we must retain old information, we do not remove old information. To remove the clutter from pages, the Archives were made as a way of removing clutter but also allowing us to retain old information. We will do the same for this update, as we would any other update.

How do I archive a page?

An archived page will have -old appended to the end of the url. If that page already exists, please follow the example of the Nightfall (Old) page- you create a new tab, and copy all the current information on the Nightfall page to the newly made tab on the archive page, save the page, and then normally edit the normal page with the new information. Essentially, you are copying and pasting current information onto another page, and then updating the page you just copied from.

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE OLD INFORMATION. Read the following above to learn about archiving and the importance of it. For a more thorough walkthrough of archiving, please visit the Archives FAQ page for more information.

What if I'm uncomfortable with editing?
Reply with the image(s) of items yet to be updated, and we will update them for you. You can reply by clicking on 'New Post' near the bottom left of this page.

For listing, it may go to however long it needs to. Beware of having around 10 or more also see's. The reason is because a global list such as List of all DoomKnight Armors is created to prevent page expansion.

There may be an occasion where the global list does not happen simply because the reason being that the list is too general. (Example: Red Cape) If you are not sure, contact a staff member.

Anagram - Associates with names

If the item is not supposed to boost, the note only goes if it is similar to Platinum DragonAxe of Victory +15 and not normal, ordinary items.

If the description clearly states that this item provides a boost with the percentage, do not add notes. (Example) If you're not sure, contact a staff member.
When encountering an item that deals with double, triple boost, please use 2x, 3x, Etc. instead.
If an item such as (Earth Orb) has more than 1 boost applied to it, split each with commas and connect the last one with and.
If you're stuck or confused on dealing with a page that appears to be similar to Medallion of Order. Talk to a staff member about it to get it solved.

Changed - Associates with evolve

Items that have the 'evolve' tag: (Example)

Click2change - Associates with click2change

This one bends to several directions. Usually, we do not add the note, but we add another image to display what the item looks like when clicked.
If the image has a complex spot on where to click in order to change, add a note or a picture that can indicate where to click. (http://aqwwiki.wikidot.com/skyguard-mech-cannons Example)
If there are no pictures showing the animation, add a note on a choice of your wording.

Because we like to be specific, it's always best to indicate which parts are Color Custom. If you are having problems, contact a staff member and they may assist you for identifying the part that is Color Custom.
At times, the item's description may contain the Color Custom details. If the detail is not specific enough, then add the note.

If two or more Color Custom properties:

If the item appears to have more than one Color Custom property; list them all, and place them just like how the list did above.
For Armors and Helms, we do not consider Hair, Skin, Eyes and Toe Nails as Color Custom parts because they're part of the Armor or Helm template.

Confirmed - Associates with anything that has an official mention from an official source

**Note:** Confirmed [to / by / in] [subject or source, and usually gets linked] [to be a (Number)% drop rate / that this item stacks up to (Number)].

Though this note may be vague due to the range, you'll have to decide how to work this note out.

Daily - Associates with daily

These generally fall under the quest pages, and never the item pages.

**Note:** This quest can only be completed **once** a day.

Or if it's a global note as in referring the entire page or the entire set of a section.

**Note:** These quests can only be completed **once** a day.

If the quest is open on a specific day:

Equip2change - Associates with equip2change

**Note:** This item changes when you relog or re-equip it.

Form - Associates with randomlygenerated

**Note:** Has many different forms.

Given - Associates with items given for a particular reason - common note usage usually associates with prize

**Note:** This item was given to [a group of players or winners].

You may also want to state all the details you can so your way of informing may excel.
Below are examples on how you may decide to expand the note only if it's necessary and appropriate.

**Note:** This item was given to 2nd Upholders on November 3rd, 2010.

Reason: (Example)

Reminder that you will never list any player's name.

Inscription - Associates with inscription

**Note:** Inscription on (Specific Part) translates to **"[Translation]"**.

Since this can be open to how you direct it or add, make it common sense so viewers may follow through and understand.
Translation letters are always capitalized no matter what unless there is an exception. (An example can be Greek)

Morph - Associates with morph only when genders are switched around

**Note:** If your character is male, then your character appears as female. If your character is female, then your character appears as male.

Must - Associates with anything that requires a specific quest or set of quests in order or a promotional offer to access or obtain

**Note:** Must have completed [[[A set of Quests]]] to access this [Shop / Screen].

If there is a certain quest:

**Note:** Must have completed the '[[[Specific Quest]]]' quest to access this [Shop / Screen].

If you are required to complete a certain quest to purchase an item from a shop.

**Note:** Must have completed the '[[[Specific Quest]]]' quest to purchase.

Promotional offer:

**Note:** Must have purchased [the / a] (Promotional Offer) [Location of purchase, Etc.] in order to access this shop.

Required for drop:

You'll have to word this on your own because there could be a variety of ways on how a promotional offer works.
There are additional info that can be included such as the time frame, Etc.

Not - Associates with properties to either counter descriptions or logical properties

This one appears to be self-opinionated due to the variety. It's totally fine as long as the note explains what appears to be false. Because we do not have many pages with these notes, try your best to create one. Below are several examples that may be able to assist.

(Example - is not Color Custom.)

(Example - This item does not do bonus damage to [Monster Kind] Monsters.)

Obtained Once - Associates with obtainedonce

**Note:** This item can only be obtained **once**.

There are at times where this note is not needed. Examples of where this note is not needed would be prizes, or special rewards.

(Example of the note not being needed)

Owned - Associates with items that were once obtained but changed to another item while the original item still exists

**Note:** If you obtained this item before [Date], it was changed to [[[New Item's Name]]].

This note is for rare occasions and does not appear even close to rarely. This case is only used at least once or twice.

(Example - This is an example of where it is used. Evil Symbiote was the original and changed to Ebil Symbiote but Evil Symbiote still remains as an existing item.)

Parody - Associates with parody

**Note:** This [Item / NPC / Monster / Etc.] is a parody of (Parody of the Subject).

If it's the description only:

**Note:** Description is a parody of (Parody of the Subject).

If it's a song related note:

**Note:** Description is a parody of [Song URL (Mainly Wikipedia) Song's Name] by [Artist URL (Mainly Wikipedia) Artist's Name].

If it's a quest that parodies a song with a lyric:

**Note:** This quest name parodies the song [Song URL (Mainly Wikipedia) Song's Name] by [Artist URL (Mainly Wikipedia) Artist's Name] with the lyric "Exact lyric goes here".

If it's a quest that parodies a title:

Note: This quest name parodies the song [Song URL (Mainly Wikipedia) Song's Name] by [Artist URL (Mainly Wikipedia) Artist's Name].

Now, Parody is indeed straining because there can never be consistency in this. The quotes are just roots, or openings for a parody note. Wherever it leads is within your decision.
It is recommended that you link the parody subject to a reliable source where it contains factual information. (Sites like Wikipedia, IMDb, etc.)
Use quotation marks, bold, italics, when or where necessary. (Songs are always italic)
If the parody content is rated PG-13 or higher, you may still add a note but do not add a link to reference.

Above all else, contact staff for questions on this type of note.

Previously Called

**Note:** Previously called **"Page's Previous Name"**.

(Example)

**Note:** Previously called **"Mazumi's Upgrade Shop"**.

If the subject has been renamed twice:

**Note:** Previously called **"Recent Previous Name"** and then **"1st Previous Name"**.

The key here is to list Latest to Earliest.

Previously Free Player / Legend

For something that was previously available to Free Players:

If it has an exclamation mark ("!"):

**Note:** Starts [[[Quests that are activated by this Pet]]] when the **"!"** is clicked on.

And of course add "(Only available to owner)" when the "!" can be only be activated or seen by owner.

Still

**Note:** Still available for owners of [[[Item]]].

Themed - Associates with aethemed

**Note:** This [Item / Monster / NPC / Etc.] is themed from the [(Source Link) (Source's Name)] from [(AE's Game Link) (AE's Game Name].

(Example)

**Note:** This item is themed from [http://oversoulgame.wikidot.com/year-of-the-horse Year of the Horse] from [http://oversoul.artix.com/ OverSoul].

The rule here is that the themed subject must be created before AQW did.

Time - Associates with content that have been accidentally given an unintended value or purpose

**Note:** For a short period of time after its release, this [subject] (was [accidental action explained here].

(Example) - Revision 13

Because there can be infinite possibilities of accidents, the note will have to be worded to the best of logic.

Translation - Associates with translation

[Non-English Word] means **"[translation of the word]"** in [language the word is in].

(Example 1)

**Note:** Dōtanuki (同田貫) means **"sword that cuts through torsos"** in Japanese.

Chinese and Japanese has Kanji or Symbols that are within their language. We always include the symbols in the note.
If the word's definition appears to be a phrase, do not capitalize the words in the phrase.

(Example 2)

**Note:** Cuco means **"Pumpkin Head"** in Portuguese.

This is an example of showing the normal note format.

(Example 3)

**Note:** **[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mapinguari Mapinguari]** usually translates to **"The Roaring Animal"** or **"The Fetid Beast"** in Portuguese.

Clearly, we may encounter a word that does appear on any dictionary such as the example above. Always do a search to explore for answers as these are possible. If you do encounter one, please do it similar to the note above. If you are struggling, contact a staff member.
Final note is please spell out the word exactly the way it normally should in other languages. (Letters like é, è, ù, ç, à, ō, Etc. are basically what I'm talking about)

Used - Associates with mergeitem and questitem

For a Quest situation:

**Note:** Used in the '[[[Quest Page Link | Quest's Name]]]' quest.

If the Quest Page just has one quest or if the item is used in every quest on that page:

**Note:** Used in the [[[Quest Page Link]]].

If the item merges more than two items in a particular shop:

**Note:** Used to merge items in the [[[Merge Shop's Name]]] shop.

If the item is only used to merge one item:

**Note:** Used to merge [[[Item Name]]].

Plural:

**Notes:**
* Used to merge:

* [[[Item Name]]].

We capped the limit to two if both items are in the same shop.
However, there are no limits if the items has no connection to each other.

When - Associates with anything but mostly used with items that show quotes when clicked

When clicked on by [non-owners / owners], (A quote, or whatever that activates after clicking)

As stated, When is mostly used with items that show quotes when clicked. But that does not mean this note restricts itself to When.
If you are eager to use this note for another purpose that does not follow any of the other notes; you may use this note for future pages as long as staff agrees to it.

Final Comments:

As always, contact staff or myself if there is an issue. I intend on getting everyone to at least familiarize themselves with notes. There may be some notes where it just has to be discussed, but that's totally acceptable. I would understand if it becomes a bit difficult to follow, but worry less since staff can correct things and may state what is wrong. But again, contact us or post below if anything bothers you.

General

• All images must be saved as .png.
  • .gif might be fine, but sometimes there is a loss of color. Verify the colors looks correctly before uploading.
  • If you are using Lightshot and are playing on the AQ3D Steam client, save the images directly to your hard drive and then upload them to Imgur. LightShot sometimes converts the images to jpg when uploading directly to Imgur.
  • If you are using Imgur, it is recommended that you create an account to upload all your images. Imgur appears to retain the Image quality and does not convert images to .jpg if being uploaded with an account. In addition, uploading images on an Imgur account will reduce the chances of an image being randomly deleted for an unknown reason.
• Set your quality setting (Graphics Preset) to "Very High" and deselect the "Depth of Field" and "Bloom" options in the Settings menu. Recommended Resolution '1920x1080' for the best quality.
• Images should preferably be hosted on Imgur (Do NOT use Tinypic or Imageshack).
• As of April 19, 2023, you MUST use an imgur account to upload images, otherwise they will be deleted per Imgur's policies.
• Crop your images properly.
  • Examples of proper cropping (old AdventureQuest examples):
    • uncropped
    • poorly cropped
    • over cropped
    • ideally cropped
• Lighting and Texture have a big influence on image quality. It is recommended that you take pictures in Locations that have minimal influence on game lighting (for example, Founder's Sanctuary or Arcangrove Forest).
  • Examples of "Lighting Influence": Example 1, Example 2, Example 3.
• Use an open and bright area for your screenshots. (Examples: Arcangrove Forest, Battleon Town Square and Founder's Sanctuary)
  • Avoid shadowed areas.
  • Avoid having the same color background as the item.
• Every item should have a high quality image of it taken. Learning how to use the game's camera tool properly is essential.
  • You can move the screens focus point around by clicking and dragging. Always try to get the most close up and accurate angle in your images.
  • Field of view settings are useful for taking images of small items. It can be used to zoom in to take images for items such as belts, boots, gloves, helmets, shoulders and weapons.
  • You can hide the game UI by going to options, Key Bindings and setting a key from your preference. Use this to take even more closer pictures of items, and particularly locations.
  • For reference, look at other pages for examples on how to properly show an item.
• The use of Invisible Set Pieces is recommended for showing items in the best way possible.
  • Different simple armors may be required depending on the item's size and color.
    • Examples: Forest Tunic, Faith's Dress, Gaudy Brimston Villager Clothing, Scoundrel Outfit, Sunkissed Swimsuit, Surfin' Skulls Suit, Supersleuth Armor.
• The game has a nifty "Preview" function for items that can show what the item looks like when equipped. If you cannot get a good screenshot for an item, then please feel free to use this feature.
  • Note: This may not work with larger weapons as they will get cut off in the preview.
• To avoid stretching browser windows, images should be no larger than 1500px by 1500px.
• Avoid taking pictures with your eyes closed from the blinking animation.

Armors/Classes

• Equip Invisible Set Pieces boots, belt, cape, gloves, helm and shoulders.
• Avoid using hairstyles that have head accessories (i.e. headbands, earrings, bowties, etc.) or covers a good deal of the face (covering eyes).
• Avoid using large weapons that cover up the armor.
  • The Adventurer's Dagger is the ideal weapon for taking pictures of Armors and Classes as it is the smallest, and is quite inexpensive.
• Try to get the camera angle as front on as possible, showing the depth, size, and details of the armor. (Example 1, Example 2)
• For class skill icons, take them on a Large game screen at 150% zoom. Try to crop as close to the purple glow around the icon as possible, without taking the glow out. (Example)
• Images should be no larger than 500px by 700px. It should also be no smaller than 250px by 500px.

Boots & Gloves

• Try to focus on the item as much as possible and use the appropriate angle. Multiple images can be taken if needed.
• Use a simple armor and avoid using armors that are colored too similarly to the item.
• Each of these items should have images for the Front, Side _{(Character looking West)}, and Back.
• It is highly recommended that you take these pictures in the highest resolution possible.

Belts, Helmets & Shoulders

• Try to focus on the item as much as possible and use the appropriate angle (a bad angle can make an image unintentionally large). Multiple images can be taken if needed. (Example
• Use a simple armor and avoid using armors that are colored too similarly to the item.
• For helms that are hair or include hair, make sure your hair color isn't too dark. Darker hair colors can hide the hair's details.
• Each of these items should have images for the Front and Back.
  • For helms that do not have a good look from the back, take an image from the Side _{(Character looking West)} instead. (Example)
• You must use bald and remove any facial hair from your character. This is to avoid the hairstyle overlapping or clipping with the helm.
  • Example where hair covers the helm (Wrong) (Example)
  • Example where hair does not cover the helm (Correct) (Example)

Capes

• Unequip all items that cover the cape, if possible. Use a weapon that is small or at least does not block the cape.
• Avoid using armors that have a color similar to the cape.

Weapons

• Unequip all items and use a simple armor to avoid covering the weapon.
• Try to get the camera angle as side on as possible so the whole weapon can be seen. (Example)
• To take Bow pictures, change to a class that uses bows (i.e. Ranger).
  • Images must be taken for both the Bow and the Quiver.
• To take Gun pictures, change to a class that uses guns (i.e. Pirate).
  • Images require both a Front and Side view, regardless of the size or details.##
• Weapons that use both hands (not including classes such as Berserker) need to be taken on both sides, left and right. (Example 1), Example 2)
• Weapons that can be seen without taking both sides do not require two images. (Example 1), (Example 2), (Example 3)
• Try and keep the Weapon image at an appropriate size. Depending on the length, the largest size a weapon should be is 900px by 450px.

Fishing Rods

• After fishing in a fishing node, your character will have the fishing rod equipped for a short period of time, take this time to take a picture of the fishing rod in the same way you would for a weapon.

Bobbers

• Bobbers are small cosmetics that can be seen on Fishing nodes.
• To take a picture, fish where the water is bright, for example Battleon Social District.
• Try to take the image when the water reflection/movement is correctly aligned to avoid confusion of a 'contorted image'. (Example).

Sets

• Set Images require wearing the full set.
  • Exceptions can be made if a set has two different items of the same type (Sword or Sword & Shield). In that case only one image is required.
  • Male and Female can wield different weapons of the same set to show multiple variations of the set. (Example)
  • If a set has multiples items for a slot, it is the editor's decision to choose which piece is best for the set image. (Example)

Transformations

• Try to take the images during the idle animation.
• Do not cover any details. It is recommended to take multiple images if needed.
• Try to not to make the image too small or too big to avoid confusion with a pet or monster.
• Images should be no larger than 1000px by 950px. It should also be no smaller than 210px by 210px.
• All transformations regardless of the size or details, must have images for the Front, Side _{(Character looking East)}, and Back. (Example).

Pets

• Try to show as many details as possible in the image.
• Take the picture at a smaller size to avoid potential confusion with a transformation or monster. (Example).

Locations/Dungeons

• The focus should be the screens in an area, so there should ideally be no other people in the room if possible.
• Try to keep the screen in its 'natural state' without any interference (other than yourself) and zoom. If there are monsters, leave them in (if possible).
• Try to get the camera angle as wide as possible for the overview images (Example) and make sure to focus appropriately on the landmark images. (Example)
• Use either the default screen resolution (which is 1152x648) or the 1024x576 resolution. Take a picture of the whole game screen. (Example, anything in the red border is the pic).
• Avoid having your character take up a majority of the screen if possible.
  • If you are unable to get a clear image if your character is being zoomed on, back up to a wall or use small sized transformations such as Dark Shroom or Salty Parrot. This hides your character and essentially allows a "first person" view of the screen.

Monsters & NPCs

• Try to get the entire monster/NPC.
• For NPCs, include the "! or …" bubble above their head in the image. This shows that the picture you took is actually of an NPC.
• For NPCs, try to get the camera angle as front on as possible (Example, Example 2, Example 3)
• For Monsters, try to avoid taking images mid-animation (combat, walking, etc) if possible.
• For Monsters, try to find a good angle. Monsters like Frogzards should be taken at a side angle to show the full body and the size of the monster. Monsters like Skeletons don't need to be taken at an angle as most of the features are visible in a frontal view.
• Try and keep the NPC/Monster at an appropriate size. (300px by 600px is the general size for regular NPCs, for example:)
  • Some Monsters are bigger than a page can handle. If an issue like this happens, contact a member of the Wiki Staff for help.
  • Examples of monsters with different sizes Example 1, Example 2, Example 3

This is a guide to hopefully help most users, new and old, get the hang of editing pages on this wiki. This guide basically covers most of the practical stuff. Includes screenshots and such to help you understand things.

Creating/Editing a Page

The first step is creating a page, and there are two ways of doing so:
1. Type in the page name you want in the textbox on the sidebar (beside the 'new page' button).
2. Type in the page name you want in the address bar.
(i.e. http://aq-3d.wikidot.com/whatever-page-name-you-want <- Do NOT use this link, it's just an example. Dashes can be replaced by spaces as they work the same way).

If you want to edit a page that's already been created, find that wiki page and scroll down to the bottom of it. There should be an "Edit" button (click here to see it; it's circled in red). Click on the Edit button in order to edit the page.

Please keep in mind that there are some pages (such as the sidebar, the Site Members page, the homepage, etc.) that cannot be edited by normal wiki editors. Please feel free to PM a staff member if you're unsure.

Now, onto how the editing window works.

Editing Window (Part 1)

Here's an image showing each important part of the editing window with a different colored box around it and where it can be found (Anything else that isn't circled, feel free to ignore it):

Firstly, I will try to explain what the first 3 boxes are and how they work to the best of my ability:

• The area in the red box is the page title. As simple as it sounds, this is where the name of your page goes. A couple things to note:
  • If you create a page using the address bar that has an apostrophe in it, (like, for example, Gaz's Shop), the title will remove the apostrophe (it will start off looking like 'Gaz S Shop'). You'll see that both links work as they're both legit, although the second one just looks very odd. Make sure to fix that when you're creating the page because Wikidot treats all apostrophes, dashes, etc. as spaces. Don't ask me why.
  • Changing the page title does not actually rename the page URL. If you need to actually rename a page (because the URL has a typo in it or for another reason), exit the page and create a new page with the correct name/URL (if you're creating the page), or PM a staff member on the Site Members page to get the page renamed (if the page has already been created).
• The area in the blue box is the "initial content" section where the preset templates are. See where it says "no template (blank page)" with a little down arrow () next to it? Clicking on that arrow will show a drop-down menu showing all the preset templates. Here is what that looks like (click here). Clicking on one of the templates will automatically load up that template in the editing window. We ask everybody to please use the templates, as doing so will help prevent mistakes, and there's less hassle for everybody.
  • Please note that all item categories (aside from Classes) are using similar template. This is because there isn't many differences between these item categories that warrants them having different templates. We figured it would be easier just to have one template for all of them instead of dozens of individual ones.
• The neon-green box is the editing window. This is pretty much where you do the majority of your editing. The only things you can't edit in the editing window is the tags and the parents; those will be explained later on in the guide.

Now comes the fun part: making the body of the wiki page.

Templates

The templates themselves should be pretty easy to figure out as is one template is broken down in order to make things easier to understand. The same example can be used for the rest of the templates. If you have any questions about the templates, please feel free to PM a staff member.

Notes:

• Anything in between a set of three brackets *[[[like this]]]* is a link. Make sure all links are spelled correctly when typing them in. Links that are broken (or example links in this guide) will appear orange, links that are working will appear as red. Use this as a guideline to make sure that any links you put in are spelled correctly.
• I'm not going to include [[include image-tags]] in any of the templates. They do not need to be touched.
• Please record any typos you see in-game, whether it be in NPC dialogue, item names/descriptions, etc. We record everything exactly as it is on the wiki.
• For image guidelines, please see the Image Submission Guidelines thread.
• For notes, please see the Note Consistency thread.

Editing Window (Part 2)

Now, back to this image. I will try to explain what the last 2 colored boxes in the editing window are and how they work to the best of my ability:

• The orange box basically describes itself: it's a little text box where you can describe the changes you made to the page (for example, if you fixed a typo. say "fixed a typo *here*", or if you're adding in new information, say "added new information *here*", etc.). If your description ends up being more than 200 characters, you can post in one of the proper forum threads provided instead. I recommend using this feature when editing large wiki pages with lots of text, as it makes finding changes easier for others and the wiki staff.
• Finally, there's the pink box. This is where you preview and save your page, among other things. I will explain each button to the best of my ability:
  • The Cancel button pretty much explains itself. Opposite to the Save button, it cancels the wiki page and exits you out of the editing window on a wiki page. If you're editing a page you're about to create and decide you don't want to create the page, or if you're in the middle of editing a page and decide that you didn't want/need to edit it, then hit the Cancel button.
  • The Preview button lets you preview the page. In other words, it lets you see what the page would look like before you save/create it. This button is incredibly useful as it makes correcting mistakes easier. Please use this button whenever possible.
  • I'm going to skip the Save Draft button as I have found it does not work for me when creating pages. The button DOES work after the page has already been created, but I don't recommend it since if you save your draft and leave the page, other people might enter the page and delete your draft by mistake. If you need to save your work while you're in the middle of editing, save the work in a program like Microsoft Word or Notepad, or use an external site such as pastebin.com.
  • The Save button pretty much explains itself. Opposite to the Cancel button, it saves your wiki page and creates it. Please use this button when you want to create your wiki page.
• Please remember to use either the Cancel or Save button (depending on the situation) if you wish to exit the editing window on a wiki page. Do not close the browser/tab window, as this will create what I like to call a ghost lock. A ghost lock is where it appears as if you're editing (it will show a page lock to others who try to edit the page) even though you're not. And since we have a rule about force-locking others, this causes people wanting to create/edit a page to wait until the person save and/or exit the page. This can cause quite a bit of confusion and delay, so please be careful.

If you have followed all of the instructions above, and you feel that your wiki page is complete, please click the Save button in order to create your wiki page.

Congratulations! You have now made a wiki page. Don't think you are done yet though. You still have to tag and parent your page, both of which are explained below.

But before we get to that, there is one more thing I would like to note.

After creating a page, if you go into the editing window again, a few more buttons will show up at the bottom of the page (click here to see them). I would like to take a minute to explain them to you:

• The Show Changes button shows any changes you made to the page while currently editing. I'll use the Cysero wiki page as an example, with the code on the page looking like this (click here). For example, let's say that he moved to a new location (Doomwood Forest) and his appearance changed. I would add the new location in and update the page to show his new appearance while keeping his old one. Here's what the code on the page looks like now: click here. And here's what the changes look like when clicking the "Show Changes" button (with stuff in blue being added in, and stuff in red being removed): click here. The button is great to use if you can't remember what information you added in and/or removed.
• The Save and Continue button is like the Save button, except it saves the page and keeps you in the editing window instead of exiting you out of the editing window. It pretty much explains itself.

Editing Window (Bonus)

To avoid certain confusions that falls upon "What to do?" or "How I do it?". This section will explain how to put information when there is scaling features that can easily cause confusion to how to apply it

• We will refer it as "Level Scaling" which can be heard of as "Scaling System". Which happens that items and monsters changes the stats numbers accordinly to their respective character fought against, meaning it will reajust based on the character current level.
  • To deal with pages if the monster level upon clicking on it is green, this means this system is being applied, meaning the stats values will be named as "Scaled".
  • For their level description (Your Level +(increase)/-(decrease)) or (Your Current Level)
  • The same is applied to the items as Stats, Power, Level and notes. (Notes has their own descriptions on which fits the pattern better).
• For more information on the matter and futher knowledge on how it is applied. Check Scaling System.

A special tag is applied to represent the changes happening.

• Level Scaled:
  • levelscaled - this monster or item has a variation on its stats.

Now, onto tags and parenting!

Tags

If you don't know what tags are, feel free to read the first post of the Tag Discussion thread.

Tagging pages is very important, as it helps keep the wiki organized, and tags help play a role in making some of our automatically-updating pages, index lists, and other functions around the wiki work. This section will be explaining how it's done.

The first thing you'll want to do is scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "Tags" button (image if you're not sure where it is). Now this is where some users find it difficult, as they don't know what tags to add. I have taken the liberty of writing down what pages need what tags, to reduce headaches. All you have to do is click on one of the collapsibles below.

+ Image Tags

- Image Tags

These are the tags that add image tags you see at the top of most (if not all) wiki pages. Please note that these will only work if [[include image-tags]] is at the top of the page (example), so if you don't see it there, then please add it in.

Here is a list of all of them and what image tag they add:

Rarity Tags:

common-rarity - This item has the "Common" rarity (the item's name is colored white).

dc - this is a DC item.

epic-rarity - This item has the "Epic" rarity (the item's name is colored purple).

junk-rarity - This item has the "Junk" rarity (the item's name is colored grey).

legendary-rarity - This item has the "Legendary" rarity (the item's name is colored gold).

rare-rarity - This item has the "Rare" rarity (the item's name is colored blue).

uncommon-rarity - This item has the "Uncommon" rarity (the item's name is colored green).

Other Tags:

beta - only accessible by players who created an account during AQ3D's beta testing stage.

legacy - this is no longer obtainable or accessible (by people who don't already have it/access to it).

kickstarter - this is accessible to anyone who backed the AQ3D Kickstarter campaign.

ptr - this can only be accessed on the PTR servers (read here for more information).

seasonal - this item/NPC/location/monster comes once a year, every year.

specialoffer - this item is only obtainable via an AE special offer. Page notes will specify.

Parenting

Parenting pages (like tags) helps keep the wiki organized, and they also play a role in making some of our automatically-updating pages, index lists, and other functions around the wiki work. This section will be explaining how it's done.

To set a parent on a page, do the following steps:

1. Click Options (located at the bottom of the page).
2. Click Parent.
3. Enter the page you wish to parent to (a list can be found below).
4. Click "Save".

A couple things to note:

• You can only parent to pages that currently exist, so be careful of any typos you might make.
• Try to follow the same parent path as other pages in said category.

Detailed List

1. Page Link + Title

• Pages should be named exactly how it is in-game. This includes typos. If you forgot, or if you made a typo in the wiki page's title that doesn't reflect how it appears in-game, notify a staff member.

2. Correct Templates

• Make sure the template you used was the correct one.

3. Tags and Parenting

• There have been a lot of cases where an item is missing tags/parenting. These are vital to pages, especially if the name of an item doesn't exactly make it obvious what it is. So when you create a page, please remember to tag and parent it to the appropriate page after you've finished creating it. If you don't know how to do these things, feel free to post in the Wiki How-to Q&A thread, or ask a staff member.

4. Format + Spelling

• There should be appropriate capitalization, spacing, etc. Wikidot code should be typed in correct, without any errors. Feel free to refer to Wikidot's Quick Reference page if you do not know how to type a specifc piece of Wikidot code.
• If you need to know how to bold, strikethrough, put in an invisible comment or put colored text on a page, please refer to this page.
• If you need to know how to type out tabs, please refer to this page.
• If you need to know how to type out collapsibles, please refer to this page.
• If you meed to know how to type out a specific link, please refer to this page.
• (Optional) I recommend that you also look through the Wiki Syntax section provided by Wikidot. This isn't required to edit on the wiki, but it does talk about other kinds of Wikidot code that may help you out with this wiki, or other wikis as well.

5. The Info

• Last (well technically should be FIRST if you're the one creating a page), simply check to make sure everything is what it should be. If you see a location picture on a helm page, there's a problem. So use the Preview button often, as said in the first post, and double check your work.

6. List of colors used in-game

• This is list of colors currently found in-game, make sure to use the names correctly to avoid hurting the poor viewer eyes in a white background.
  • This is a grey color.
  • This is a lightdark color.
  • This is a green (#228B22) color.
  • This is a royalblue color.
  • This is a darkviolet color.
  • This is a darkorange color.
  • This is a cyan (#009bd6) color.
  • This is a red color.
  • This is a lightblue (#189ad3) color.
  • This is a deeppink color .
  • This is a purple color.

Hello there everyone. Since people have been asking me more and more about what wiki mods and admins do, and how they are hired, I thought I would just make this thread explaining so.
This thread is an overview of what wiki mods and admins do, and how they are hired.

Wiki Mods

The first level of staff is the Wiki Mods. These are the staff who help keep order on the wiki. They:

• Have access to all page editing powers on the wiki, including but not limited to, deleting pages, locking and editing locked pages, editing and locking forum topics/threads, editing forum posts, etc. With these powers, they are responsible for managing essentially the entire wiki.
• Are the ones that help users out and guide them along, etc.
• Monitor the wiki for rule-breakers.
• Uphold the wiki/AE rules and keep a professional manner.
• Maintain the wiki to keep it up-to-date with both content, rules, functions, and other features implemented in the future. This especially includes release nights (which are typically on Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

The selection process is explained below.

Wiki Admins

The staff who come above the Wiki Mods are the Wiki Admins. These are the staff who essentially run the whole wiki. They:

• They have all the powers that the Wiki Mods have, along with access to the Site Manager, which includes (but is not limited to) access to the wiki's general settings, the wiki's security (permissions, bans, etc.), extra features to the wiki forums (settings, the forum structure, permissions, etc.), inviting other people to the wiki, etc.
• Are the ones that help instruct the Wiki Mods, guiding them along, helping users out, etc.
• Monitor the wiki for rule-breakers.
• Uphold the wiki/AE rules and keep a professional manner.
• Maintain the wiki to keep it up-to-date with both content, rules, functions, and other features implemented in the future.

We select Wiki Admins by picking someone from the list of Wiki Mods. We are not hiring for wiki admins. Exceptionally experienced Wiki Mods may be selected for becoming a Wiki Admin when it is deemed necessary.

Please note the following:

• There are currently 3 admins for this wiki: the AQ3D Wiki Team Lead (which is currently, Apus), the AQ3D Wiki Assistant Team Lead (which is currently, Heromanguy12), and the Master Wiki Administrator (which is currently Reens).
• A new AQ3D Wiki Team Lead is chosen when the current head of the AQ3D Wiki has to step down for any reason. Only Wiki Admins are eligible for this position.

Becoming a Wiki Mod

The following will be explaining the definition of a Moderator and all the requirements we look for (should you want to become one).

1. Here's what you need to know about being a Moderator:

• The Moderator staff position is a volunteer position. Just like the wiki admins, you will not be getting paid for this position.
• If there are users who aren't following the rules, send the user a PM telling them what they're doing wrong and what they should do.
• Having a positive attitude is important. If we find that you're behaving negatively towards users, chances are, you won't be chosen to be a Moderator, or if you are already one, you won't get promoted and, depending on the severity of your behavior, may even be dropped from the list of Moderators.
• Due to the fact that we have a wiki staff Discord channel, there is a lot of private information that is only meant for the wiki staff and not the public. Honesty and trustworthiness are very important when working in the wiki, this includes all wiki mods and admins. If we find out that ANY Moderators are leaking private information, then the Moderators who initiated it will be removed immediately.
• Moderators are monitored by the AQ3D Wiki Lead, which is currently, Apus. This person plays a big role in which Moderators are approved and which sections they are assigned to. This person will watch a user's progress as a Moderator and make sure they are acting appropriately.
• So long as you remain a Moderator, you are a member of the wiki staff. You must follow all wiki and AE game rules so long as you are using your Moderator alias. If we do catch you breaking either wiki rules or AE rules, you won't be chosen to be a Moderator (depending on the severity of the situation), or if you are already one, you won't get promoted and, depending on the severity of your behavior, may even be dropped from the list of Moderators.
• You get access to the AQ3D Wiki Team guild. (Do note that it's for wiki staff only)

2. Requirements & Things to Keep in Mind

We have a lot of these, so make sure to read through them all carefully.

• You do not have to be part of the team to help out on the wiki. As this is a wiki, editing (most) pages is open to all. This position is for those who have been around for a while, helped out a lot, and want to be part of the team that manages the entire wiki. If you're new to the wiki, or have barely done any work for the wiki, we will not even think of considering you for a Moderator position. You need to familiarize yourself with the wiki and our ways of doing things before we can consider adding you. We judge by the quality of your posts/edits, and of course how active you are (which can be judged by your account history and (sometimes) the karma system).
• Unlike the hiring process for volunteer AQ3D staff, the AQ3D Wiki does not hire people through an application process. I will hire people when I see fit. Please do not send "applications" to me or any wiki staff, or ask me or any wiki staff about becoming a Moderator, because you will just be told what I'm telling you here. It will also decrease your chances of becoming staff because you're showing us that you cannot follow instructions.
• To hire new Moderators, we keep an eye on editors actively editing on the wiki (usually through the Recent Changes) that have been around for a while. If I or another wiki mod sees a potential candidate for Moderator, we discuss it amongst ourselves and we look at your activity to see if you've proven to be helpful. If you qualify, we will send you a PM requesting if you wish to become a Moderator. If you accept, we'll add you to the Moderators List and set you up with any additional information you're required to know. Excessively asking me or other staff members while doing little to nothing will not do you any good, and may get you removed from the wiki if it becomes a problem.
• Being on the Wiki Team is more than just being a good editor. You must be a helpful and friendly participant of the Wiki community. You should try your best to be involved in the Wiki Forum and the AQ3D Wiki Discord.
• Knowing how to speak/write English is an absolute must on the wiki since most of this wiki is entirely in English. Proper communication is also very vital when working on the wiki, if we can't understand what you're trying to say, or if you can't understand what we're trying to say, then that creates communications problems. The wiki can't function properly if there is no proper communication among the wiki members, staff members, etc.
• Activity is important. If you're a Moderator, and you're inactive, you will most likely be removed. So post if you're active, don't otherwise. If you have been removed and would like to be a Moderator again, you will have to repeat the process, as we won't know if you'll be active again or not.
• You must be willing to work outside your comfort zone. For example, if I ask you to do a certain page, you should be able to know what template to use and what information has to go into that template.
• Having a title does not make you better than others. All rules must still be followed.
• This wiki is hosted by Wikidot, a third-party company not affiliated with Artix Entertainment. As such, being a wiki Moderator does not grant you any in-game powers or in-game currency on the AEForums, AQ3D, or any of AE's games.

3. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to be an upgraded player/be a certain level/have a certain item, to become a Moderator?
A: Absolutely not. Anybody can become a Moderator, regardless of how good/bad your in-game account is. We are only looking for people who are experienced with the wiki and basic Wikidot code.

Q: Do you need to be a certain age to be a Moderator?
A: There's no age limit. Anybody can be a Moderator regardless of age.

Q: When will you be hiring more Moderators?
A: Moderators are hired at the discretion of the Wiki Team Lead when more are deemed necessary.

Q: How much karma do I need to become a Moderator?
A: You don't need to be at a specific level in karma to become a Moderator. Although, karma does indicate how active you are, so having a decent karma level is recommended.

Reporting Users

• Regular Users: If you are having a problem with another user on the Wiki, please do not attempt to deal with it yourself, and instead PM a Wiki Moderator, and include as much detail as possible. The Moderators will attempt to solve the issue. The issue will be forwarded onto an Admin when appropriate.
• Wiki Moderators: If you have an issue with a Wiki Moderator, please PM the Moderator in question and see if you can solve the issue between yourselves. If you cannot resolve the issue, PM rickyb20 and explain the situation in full detail. Rickyb20 have the final say.

An important note to add is to NOT retaliate negatively to users and keep a calm and professional attitude to attempt to resolve any issue the best possible way. Also, do not retaliate at all to purposely malicious users (i.e. spammers) and just wait for a Wiki Admin or Moderator to deal with the issue.

Locked Pages
If you see a problem with a page locked to general users, please PM a wiki mod or admin.

Renaming or Deleting Pages
If you need a page renamed/deleted, please PM a wiki mod or admin. When sending a PM, please explain in full detail why the page needs to be renamed/deleted.

First of all, I'd like to give you a warm welcome to this Wiki. It's great to get new editors sign up and watch them grow into model assets on this Wiki.

If you ever have any questions (no matter how big or small), please feel free to PM a Wiki Admin or Moderator as we are always more than happy to help.

We understand that it can be a confusing time when you first join the Wiki, as there are many threads you have to read in order to know how to edit and adjust into Wiki life. Hopefully this guide will help show you where to start, with a breakdown of all necessary information.

Rules and Information

This is your first stop. You must read all of these threads first, before you do anything else on the Wiki. If there's ever anything you don't understand, make sure you PM a member of the Wiki staff for clarification.

• AQ3D Wiki Rules - Our absolute rules. These 10 rules must be followed at all times. If you fail to do so, you could be banned from the Wiki. First and foremost, you must read these rules and make sure you understand them.
• Image Submission Guidelines - We expect the highest quality images on the Wiki, so these rules must be followed if you want your image to stay. There are specific rules for each type of item.

1) No profanity, inappropriate material, or content.

This is a family friendly game; we have players of all ages, including children. Do not post links to sites that have content rated more "mature" than PG-13 (Some PG-13 content, swearing and partial nudity in particular, is prohibited from the boards.). Any material that is pornographic, sexually explicit, graphically violent (detailed descriptions of violence include describing/referencing torture, vicious acts of physical brutality, etc), visually offensive, derogatory, or discriminates on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, color, creed, religion, lifestyle, or, any other material (includes nudity and offensive pictures) that may be deemed as objectionable in a public community environment is strictly prohibited.
Profanity is strictly prohibited. Use of foul language, including swear words, real-world racial slurs, alternate spellings, and other language that is not consistent with the fantasy environment will be considered a disruption.
Any swearing, whether spelled out, placed in an acronym, and/or censored, or placed in a graphical image/offsite link, is prohibited.

2) No illegal content.

This includes linking to any sites that may violate the rules. If you have any doubts whatsoever about the appropriateness of the content you want to post, don't post it. This includes but is not limited to:

• adult-oriented content
• content that breaks any laws
• copyright infringement (many MP3s, ROMs, etc.), warez, CD keys, cracks, passwords, serial numbers, etc.
• gambling and drugs
• hacking materials and information
• selling AE Characters (property of Artix Entertainment, LLC.)
• terrorism (promotion/carrying it through)
• trojans, viruses, worms, and other such harmful things

3) You must not harass or abuse others.

Harassment is defined as specifically targeting another player or group of players to harm or inconvenience them. As harassment can take many forms, the moderators will make a determination as to whether or not a "reasonable person" would feel harassed and act accordingly. Actions which would be considered abuse include but are not limited to:

3.1) Sexual Abuse or Harassment

Untoward and/or unwelcome advances of a graphic and sexual nature - PMs: If someone tells you to stop PMing them and includes a reason, you stop. If you do not, it will be considered harassment.

3.2) Attempting to Defraud

Creating false information with the intent of harming another and/or receiving benefits as a result - This includes reporting player misconduct without basis for it.

3.3) Personal Abuse

Includes but is not limited to sending excessive private messages or e-mails to a moderator or staff member, making physical threats, or using abusive language against a moderator.

3.4) Fellow Users

The above also apply to fellow users on the Wiki.

4) Page Locks

For those of you who don't know what a page lock is, a page lock occurs when somebody is editing a page. A page lock is put in place to ensure other wiki members that there is a person editing the page. A page lock will tell you who is editing, the lock mode, when the person started editing and how many seconds are left until the lock expires. Page locks will either look like this or this.

4.1) No force lock removals/intercepting locks

Forcibly removing a user's lock on a page is a ban-able offence. If a user has locked the page it means that they are in the process of editing the page. Force locking is disruptive and only slows the editing process. Please be patient and wait until the user has finished editing.

Force-locking is also not considered thanks-worthy. So if someone makes a page or adds something along with their thanks and they force-locked you, please PM a Wiki Moderator or Admin and we'll deal with it.

4.2) No multi-locking pages

Multi-locking is when a user locks several pages at once. This is not allowed. The Wiki is not a race, there is no need to lock multiple pages just so that you can create them. Not only is this unfair but it will also take longer to get information on the Wiki. Just create one page at a time.

If your lock has been forcibly removed, if you notice a user multi-locking pages, or if you have an issue with someone who is editing, please PM a Wiki Moderator or Admin.

Also, before exiting a page, PLEASE hit either "Save" or "Cancel". Doing so will remove your page lock. DO NOT CLOSE THE BROWSER TAB/WINDOW, as this will keep your page lock up and make us think that you're multi-locking pages, and nobody wants that.

5) No trolling/flaming.

Trolling is posting with the intent to cause a negative reaction in an individual or group of people. This can take the form of pointlessly spamming a thread or a more directed form of posting something you know is likely to upset them. If you don't have any serious things to contribute to the conversation, stay out of it. In other words, do not post anything intended to provoke someone into replying negatively.

6) No spamming.

Please keep threads on a topic related to the board you are posting in, and replies relevant to the topic you are replying to.
This also includes re-adding your removed edits over and over (please PM a any wiki mod located there instead so you may know why your edits are being removed, but please DO NOT spam in our pages.

7) Trick links and pranking.

Trick links (Saying a link will show someone something, but then actually linking to something else) are not allowed. Trick links of a malicious nature (browser hijacking links, for example) will be severely punished, even for a first offense.
Pranking is also not allowed. Pranking is posting anything which you claim is truthful even though you know it to be false. (For example, posting that a release is live or that a certain item has been made rare when you know the statements to be false.)

8) Staff may delete and lock messages at their discretion.

Part of the job of moderators is to keep the boards clean. Messages deemed inappropriate, old, or off topic may be deleted/locked by moderators at any time.

9) You may only post entries that are or have been available to the public.

That means no staff-only items or unreleased items. Any unreleased information or information gathered through cheating will not be tolerated. If anyone does publish such information in any way or form, they will lose their ability to post on this wiki. This applies to all items and details when they are obtainable only through illegal methods such as cheating. Staff only items are considered unobtainable and therefore should not be added to the wiki.

That also means that personal pages, fanfiction, clans, and the like do not have a place on this site. This Wiki is an encyclopedia that documents in-game features — anything else is irrelevant and will be deleted.

10) Please be accurate.

It is a pain for everyone if people do not follow templates or post inaccurate information. This is not a race, so please check and recheck all information you post for new releases, and make sure they follow the same format as the majority of other similar categorical entries.
