Explore Umbral Caves
I've been coming here since I was a child. These caves are easy to get lost in. Before anything else you should go inside and get your bearings and come back out safely. Be careful.

Giant bugs? Zombies? Those things were never in the cave before! Did you see any sign of my family or the other members of the gathering party?

I'm worried about my family but if we don't get the roots we need, all of Doomwood is in danger. Whatever is down there must have already gathered the roots. Get it back from them.

They are dead. They must be. I don't want to accept it but I'm not stupid and I can't leave without the Wayker's Root. I just need to KNOW, for sure. Please, search for any sign of them.

I want you to do one last thing for me. Destroy the big one. Maybe it's the queen or something. Just make sure this never happens to anyone else again. Bring me whatever you can find.

This is my brother's pendant. But that bug couldn't have been wearing it, it was sealed around Aldus's neck. Oh, Avatar of Light… It was him! They are changing us into them!

Cycle of Death

Collect Ixtis eggs from Infected Zombies
I think they are growing their eggs inside of people's bodies. It keeps them walking like zombies until they mature and change into the big ones. If I had samples of the eggs maybe I can find something that would stop the process.

Scarce Resources

Get an Ixtis Harvester's Bile Duct
I don't know why they want them but it seems like these bugs were drawn to this cave for the same reason that we were. They are feeding on the Wayker's Root! If you are able to bring me an in-tact bile duct I might find how they process the root.

I wonder if they are eating them Wayker's Root because the Gray Fever affects them too? I hope it does. I hope it wipes them out!
