The Heartwood? I suppose caring for a Sapling is much like caring for a Pet: you need to nurture it and give it the best food possible!
I keep some special Plant Feed in the cabinets in the rare plant-based creature that comes my way. and you can grab some Fertilizer from the stables out front.
I hear that Rich Volcanic Soil will give and plant a jump start! There are some big critters out there that constantly dig and aerate the soil-it'd be perfect!
